About Fighting Owl Films

Fighting Owl Films is a Mobile, Alabama-based independent film production group that has produced several genre shorts that, while low budget in nature, have received solid reviews and have been featured in numerous film festivals across the country. The group produced its first feature film, a supernatural action-adventure called The Night Shift, in 2010. The feature received generally positive reviews, was named Best Fantasy Feature at the 2011 Shockerfest International Film Festival, and was picked up for North American DVD distribution by R-Squared Films for an October 2011 release. Fighting Owl Films is now working on multiple projects, both shorts and features.

The group was founded in 2007 by Thomas Smith, who has quickly made a name for himself as an ambitious filmmaker who is not only a talented director, but a gifted writer.
