Fighting Owl Films presents Fighting Owl Productions, our new division that focuses on providing professional video-production services that meet any budget. Proudly serving the Mobile/Baldwin County, Pensacola and Biloxi/Gulfport region, we provide a range of services, including commercial and music video production, writing, general video production and editing, event coverage, our popular movie parties and more! You name it, we shoot it.
| Thomas Smith (writer, director, producer, editor) founded Fighting Owl Films, a production company that specializes in genre films, in 2007. Smith is quickly making a name for himself as an ambitious filmmaker who is not only a talented director, but a gifted writer. His screenplay, "'Till Death", was a finalist in the 2007 Birmingham Film Festival Sidewrite Competition. In 2008, his zero-budget short, "Shadows", placed second in the first round of the Master of the Macabre competition, and throughout 2009 the short films “The Strange Experiment of Doctor Purefoy” and “The Night Shift” screened at several festivals across the country. Inspired by the amount of positive feedback and support “The Night Shift” short received, Smith wrote, directed and co-produced his first feature film in 2010, an adaptation of "The Night Shift," which was met with positive reviews. | Soren Odom (writer, director, composer, editor, director of photography) was first introduced to Thomas Smith while working as a script supervisor on Smith’s slasher flick Camp Hill. The two had many a conversation before the idea of original music came up for the short entitled “Shadows.” As questions arose about the role of Herbie, the talking skeleton, Soren stepped up to the plate and paid his dues as a crew member in the short “The Night Shift.” Jumping into movie scores Soren discovered his talents for composing. Soren reprised his role of Herbie in the feature film and served as Director of Photography for the production. He recently graduated from the University of South Alabama with a minor in Music. |  |
| Erin Lilley (actress, producer) is a stage and screen actor, with credits ranging from Greek tragedies to slapstick farce. Most notably, she played the role of Beauty in American Family Theatre's national tour of "Beauty and the Beast", and the role of Claire in Fighting Owl Films' critically-praised feature film, "The Night Shift". Off-camera, Erin is a voice-over artist and an accomplished singer who enjoys annoying her neighbors with early-morning opera. |

Movie Parties:
Our popular movie parties are available for children in the 1st to 8th-grade age range. This is the chance for your child and their friends and/or family to star in a custom-produced short film of their own! Movie parties are the perfect activity for birthdays, special gatherings or just a free afternoon! Parties can accomodate 3 to 10 children, with a variety of gender-neutral packages and themes available.
Here's how it works: Choose one of our Genre Themes. If you don't see what you're looking for, don't worry. Tell us what you want and we'll be happy to work with you. Once a theme is finalized, let us know the event date and number of participants and we'll do the rest! We'll show up to your event's location, ready to roll film! Participants not only star in their own film, but get to learn about the filmmaking process first-hand. Also, participants don't have to worry about memorizing long lines because all dialogue is improvised, enhancing the fun! Once filming is complete, the footage will be taken back to the studio to be edited, scored and finalized. Within two weeks, we'll present you with two DVD copies of the finished short film. Additional DVDs are available. Average running time for the film is 5-8 minutes. Footage of the birthday or event can also be filmed as part of the package and included on the DVD.
