Demon Squad 2 is Funded!
It’s official!
On April 23 we hit a huge milestone: Our Kickstarter campaign was funded in a matter of two days!!!
WE'RE OFFICIALLY MAKING DEMON SQUAD 2!!!
Being able to slap the "Just Funded" banner on the campaign thumbnail felt so, so good. Thank you all for making this happen! We hope to make you all proud. Thanks to each and every one of you who pledged and shared the campaign.
We’re bringing on an outside writer to take our story outline and the scenes we’ve written so far and make it all shine. I think many of you will be very familiar with the writer… None other than the super talented Devon Coleman, who was a writer on the Demon Squad episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000!
Devon reached out to us about a month before the episode aired last year, interested to learn our thoughts about the experience and our feedback on the episode once it aired, and we all kind of hit it off. Devon legit enjoyed Demon Squad, gets the characters, the world, and the vibe of what we’re trying to do. So, we’re looking forward to working with Devon to bring this cool story to life.
To everyone who supported the campaign, THANK YOU!
More updates to come…
Relaunch: Demon Squad 2 Kickstarter
Fighting Owl Films' recently re-launched its Kickstarter campaign for Demon Squad 2 after the original campaign for Deadwatch: Demon Squad 2 was unsuccessful.
The campaign has raised 77% of its goal is less than two days!
Fighting Owl Films' recently re-launched its Kickstarter campaign for Demon Squad 2 after the original campaign for Deadwatch: Demon Squad 2 was unsuccessful. With a goal of $20,000, the campaign has raised 77% of its goal in less than two days with 144 backers! Demon Squad 2 is the sequel to Demon Squad, the well-received 2019 film that was also featured on the revived cult-classic TV series, Mystery Science Theater 3000.
"We're starting this project from scratch. New story. New script. And a much more attainable goal," said Thomas Smith, director and co-writer. "We're blown away by the response the campaign received."
About Demon Squad 2
Originally released in 2019 to warm critical reception, Demon Squad is a supernatural film noir that followed Nick Moon, P.I. (Paranormal Investigator) as he delved into a hidden world of monsters and creatures of the night to retrieve an ancient artifact with astonishing power. Audiences and critics alike embraced the no-budget independent film, praising it for its ambition, writing, and characters, while posing a similar question: "When's the sequel?" Enter Deadwatch: Demon Squad 2...
Paranormal investigators Nick Moon and Daisy O'Reilly are on the trail of a supernatural killer! When the city's homeless begin turning up dead -- often viciously slaughtered -- it's up to Moon and Daisy to determine who or what is behind the attacks. Complicating matters are Moon's waning mystic abilities and a rival "psychic" spreading rumors of werewolves and serial killers. Join the paranormal team at Full Moon, Inc., as they take on a brand-new case.
"With Demon Squad 2 we want to make the best possible movie we can," Erin Lilley, actor, producer, and co-writer explains. "This is our opportunity to produce a whole new adventure with the resources we need to make it right."

Ben Nagy reviews ‘Demon Squad’: Hiney-Kicking Paranormal P.I. Fights Monsters in Mobile
Undoubtedly an instant Alabama drive-in classic, this one has a detective and his partner defanging demons and pursuing powerful occult artifacts
Check out this great, fun review of Demon Squad by Joe Bob Briggs’ resident reviewer Ben Nagy:
“Undoubtedly an instant Alabama drive-in classic..”
Smith, Lilley and his cohorts have something fun and creative going on in ‘bama. This flick has heart (some of it in a bucket on a mad scientist’s floor), world-building (they like Rick James in one of the local monster bars) and oh yeah, some slime flying and a dead butler getting tossed off a balcony, all on a limited budget.
Give Demon Squad three stars — half-star deduction because of the absence of garbonzas, plus a bit of inconsistency in the lighting and sound in a couple interior scenes. If they can cut down on the dialogue a bit while getting the camera moving a bit more, they’ll be on their way to four-star drive-in glopola classics and a position in the Pantheon of Alabama Filmmakers.”
